Bone Island is an indie folk pop band from D.C. They formed in 2010 on a small private island (bearing the same name as the band), underneath the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. Bone Island uses what some would consider unusual instruments (the singing saw, french horn, euphonium), hearkening to the folky Neutral Milk Hotel, the melodies of The Penguins, and the emotive lyrics of Death Cab for Cutie.
